How are children selected for admission to SDI?
Admission to Sahasra Deepika Institute is open to all children irrespective of gender,
caste, creed, religion and nationality. A child should be at least four years old
and satisfy any of the following criteria:
- A child who has lost both the parents and there is no one to care for them;
- A child who has lost one parent and the other parent is not capable of providing
the necessary upbringing for the child;
- A child who has been deserted by the parents and there is no shelter to which they
can return.

for Education, Bangalore.
What is relationship between SDI, SDFE and SDIE?
Sahasra Deepika Institute is supported by Sahasra Deepika Foundation for Education,
a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in the United States. SDFE raises funds,
operates the SDI Scholars internship program, and coordinates volunteers from the
U.S. In India, Sahasra Deepika International for Education is a registered charitable
trust that also raises funds for SDI, operates the Institute, and coordinates volunteers
from India. SDFE and SDIE work together to help the children at Sahasra Deepika
Institute.
Does Sahasra Deepika assist with placement of orphans for adoption?
No. Orphans that are SDI students will remain with us until they have completed
high school and will be given full assistance for placement in college.
Can I work at SDI as a college student?
College students are welcome to apply for the SDI Scholars internship program, or
come and volunteer at our school. If you would like to volunteer,
